About Melvin Markets.

Independent market research. Personal views. A record of how ideas develop.

The publication

Melvin Markets is a market-analysis publication by Melvin, also active on X as @melvinmarkets. This website brings together analyses, trade setups and views on the economy in one place.

The research covers currencies, commodities and stocks, with sections for the wider market and economics. The focus is on connecting the larger economic picture with specific market scenarios.

The research approach

Growth, inflation, labour markets, interest rates and central bank decisions provide the macroeconomic context. Positioning, Commitments of Traders data, seasonality and price behaviour help develop and assess individual ideas.

Analyses explain the reasoning behind a view, the relevant time horizon and, where provided, the levels or conditions that would support or invalidate it. Historical comparisons and seasonal patterns are context for a scenario; they do not establish that a future outcome will repeat.

Original views and later updates

Articles show their original publication date. Subsequent updates are dated separately, so the initial view can be read alongside later developments and before-and-after charts.

The archive includes English editions of earlier TradingView analyses, with links to the original publications and the original chart images. Supplemental figures retain their publisher sources, data periods and addition dates. A later source review is separate from the original publication date.

Economics and discussion

The Economics category in Marketinsight is for views on currencies, central banks, growth and inflation. Readers can discuss analyses through their comment threads. Posting comments requires sign-in; the subscriber chat is restricted to the author and eligible paid members.
